Since the space inside this cabinet is broken up to hold specific things with specific minimum space requirements, there's no symetry inside the cabinet. That makes decisions about the cabinet doors a little tricky. I could go with two equal doors for the bottom opening and one offset smalled cabinet door on the top opening next to the drawers. Or I could go with one lower cabinet door and one tall, narrower cabinet door on the right.

I have difficulty making decisions just from some drawings, even if their done to scale. Time to do some mock ups of some alternatives. Ripped some pine into 2 inch, 1 3/4 inch, 1 1/2 and 1 1/4 inch widths and tried out some of the options. Here's what that looks like.

The asymetry of Option A has a Tansu cabinet look but that wasn't what I was going for, given the garnet shellac finish I'd done on the inside and the cabinet top. The idea of a tall narrow cabinet door on the right and a shorter wide cabinet door under the drawers appealed to me because of the surprise factor. It would look like the space inside the cabinet would match the doors . Surprise!

So One Tall Narrow and One Short and Wide. Now the question became "How do I break up the tall narrow cabinet door?". Put the center rail lining up with the top rail of the short wide cabinet door or have it divide the tall narrow one in half
