Another one from The Great All-American Wooden Toy Book. Jess's uncle is a heavy equiptment operator and owns one of these monsters. Used a lot of scraps on this one, plenty of parts to sand to the line, lots of drill press work. We made a trip to a hobby shop for a bunch of wooden wheels - maybe when they run out I'll get a lathe. The blade is glued AND doweled to the arms. Was concerned about the L shaped arms breaking, given the grain and the fact that they're poplar so they have vertical dowels, two per arm, to reinforce them.
I suspect a Low Boy and the Tractor to pull it will be on the Future Projects list.
