what about laminated Pointy Sticks?
Depends on your intended use for the Pointy Stick.
If you want a Poking/Stabbing Pointy Stick you'll want to go with hard hardwood (1)
As for Laminated Tip Pointy Sticks - only if you have a weight problem - like with a throwing spear or an arrow. You can go with gap filling glue like Gorilla Glue for a quick and dirty. But if you've got a lathe -then you can make 2, 3 or 4 with 4 being the most durable.
