We've been working with the use of a pendulum's behavior and ways of adding that to create ideas for pieces that have actual movement - a swinging pendulum - behaving like a pendulum should - its EXPECTED behavior. And we're doing that with a servo to swing the pendulum, a micro-controller to control the servo's movement with the use of a program downloaded to the micro-controller. That program allows us to CHANGE the servo's movement and thus the pendulum's behavior. We can specify the pendulum's Initial Release Angle, the rate at which it moves - AND - how far it can swing past vertical on the "far side" of its expected path. We can play with Space and TIME - and use that to manipulate what a viewer's experiences.
We'll start with a pendulum's EXPECTED behavior.
