The following tip, as noted by Conan The Librarian in rec.woodworking, was in a Chris Becksvoort (sp?) article in Fine Woodworking a couple of years ago. Just proves that there isn't much new under the sun - especially in woodworking. The pictures below shows a pair of inexpensive Pony miter clamps being used but could be done with shop made corner blocks and some C clamps just as easily. Makes marking the tails from the pins SO MUCH EASIER AND MORE ACCURATE than the hand held method.
